Third group project has been set! This time we have been asked to find a journey between a door and a subwoofer and document it by producing a piece of artwork…sound hard? It is. Its driving me crazy trying to think of ideas! Let alone how we would execute them (I’m a technophobe!) So far we have had a few ideas mainly revolving around using the door into another realm, perhaps where the subwoofers live. (Let me explain…[as none of us knew what a subwofer was we decided that it could be anything, hense we have created our own little race]).
Wow, so we have been out today filming for our project. Luckily the weather stayed nice and dry. It was quite amazing how many people were coming to look at the chair without any haste or reservations. I couldnt help thinking that if we had chosen a comfier looking chair that more people would have wanted to
Wow, can’t believe how quick time seems to be going! Our idea is to take a chair into the town centre and ask people to sit upon it for us to take a photograph, as well as this we will be filming peoples reaction to the chair as it sits on its own in the middle of the street (seemingly). (Personally I would like to ask the people that sit on our chair what their occupation is and embroider this onto coloured ribbons tied onto the chair – just so we have an insight into the person.) So our final will be a mixed installation piece, complete with film, photography and installation.
OK, so the second project of the term has now been set! ‘Deconstructing the Grand Master’ We have chosen Renoir’s Le Moulin de la Galette, and are currently still brinstorming ideas of how to reproduce it within a contemporary era. So far it’s been really interesting. We have managed to narrow our ideas and are starting to refine them so…watch this space!…
